General Job Description

Planning and implementation of the educational programs that have been developed in accordance with the collective and the individual needs of the students and organization of the classrooms according to preset model standards.

Direct Supervisor: Educational Supervisor
Staff: Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

  • Organize classrooms in accordance with model standard and establish tasks and duties for the assistant teacher
  • Manage the assigned classroom responsibly according to a carefully developed education plan
  • Set initial goals for the students and discuss these with the parents as well as formulate individualized education plans for each student according to his or her skills and abilities
  • Design an educational program to accomplish the goals of the education plan comprising a general plan and a contingency plan as well as a weekly plan in collaboration with the educational supervisor
  • Prepare sequential steps for teaching self help goals with copies to be sent to parents for at home training as well as implement educational tutorials using appropriate activities
  • Prepare materials required for the students before their arrival including flash cards and games and other educational materials
  • Meet with parents every semester to discuss their childs performance and submit written report to the educational supervisor
  • Assess the students periodically across all domains and at the beginning and end of each academic year
  • Prepare report for each child based on the individualized education plan highlighting the skills and progress achieved as well as strengths and weaknesses
  • Supervise and manage the assistant teacher and ensure that he or she is carrying out all duties at the required level
  • Assess the performance of the assistant teacher at the end of the academic year in collaboration with the educational supervisor
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by the educational supervisor

 

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Special Education with 3 to 5 years experience
  • Specialized training in Special Education
  • Computer proficiency
  • Team Player
  • Self Starter with ability to motivate the students
  • Ability to interact positively with the students and their parents
