From Being the Exception to Being the Solution
We receive phone calls, letters and emails on a daily basis from parents all over Saudi Arabia who want to enroll their children in our school. In fact, we have a waiting list of over 1100 children from the Riyadh area alone. To address this critical need, we intend to transform from a single school into a network of schools.
Our Strategy
Our strategy is to build a network of 5 more schools across Saudi Arabia and by 2030, we intend to reach 45% of Saudi children with Down syndrome – that is more than 11,000 youth with Down syndrome whose lives we will change.
1. Building More Schools
We would like to replicate our success in Riyadh in other parts of the country. This means building a total of 5 new schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based on the strategic plan that we devised in consultation with McKinsey & Company. We started to implement this plan with the opening of the new Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Schools for Down Syndrome in the Hateen area in Riyadh in 2016 with a 300 student capacity.
Moving forward, we envision building more schools in different parts of the country. This will give us an intensive educational presence from which we can transform the lives of our students and their families.
2. Conducting Research
We intend to contribute to research in the field of Down syndrome - particularly when it comes to education and healthcare - in cooperation with the National Down Syndrome Society, New York (USA).
3. Launching the Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Digital Academy for Down Syndrome
We are working diligently on launching an electronic learning solution for children with special needs that incorporates best practices in today's digital age. This will allow us to take our award-winning curriculum and use it to benefit a larger number of individuals with special needs throughout the Middle East that are lacking access to a quality education today.
